Hyponatremia in the neurosurgical patient: importance and pathophysiology, etiology, differential diagnosis and treatment. Can we differentiate SIADH from cerebral salt wasting syndrome? Dr. Răzvan Chirilă M.D. is board-certified in Internal Medicine and he joined Mayo Clinic staff in 2012. Dr. Chirila earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. He completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. He serves as a consultant within the Section of Executive Health and International Medicine. Dr. Chirila is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He has a special interest in perioperative medicine, graduate medical education and quality and resource utilization in medicine. He is core faculty of the Internal Medicine Residency, member of the Clinical Competency Committee and he is the recipient of multiple teaching awards. He serves as the Medical Director for Case Management, Utilization Review and Clinical Documentation for Mayo Clinic Florida. Dr. Chirila is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
