Adam I. Perlman, M.D., M.P.H.
Adam I. Perlman, M.D., is an associate professor and consultant in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Perlman joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in January 2019 as Director of Integrative Health and Wellbeing for Mayo Clinic Florida. In January 2020, he was named Medical Director for Employee Wellbeing for Mayo Clinic Florida and in December 2022, he was named Medical Director of Joy at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Perlman earned his B.A. at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He earned his M.D. at Boston University School of Medicine, where he completed a residency, followed by a research fellowship in general internal medicine and a residency in preventive medicine. He simultaneously earned a Master of Public Health at Boston University School of Public Health.
Dr. Perlman specializes in both integrative and functional medicine. His clinical interests include the applied science and integration of lifestyle, nutrition, complementary medical modalities and health coaches in treating complex conditions as well as improving patient and employee wellbeing. Dr. Perlman’s diverse research interests have focused on osteoarthritis, massage, chronic pain management, health coaching and resilience. He is frequently invited to give presentations on his work both nationally and internationally and has authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, abstracts and other written publications. His research has been published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and featured in the New York Times.
