Invitation Comprehensive Advancements in Research and Exchanges for Neuro-Oncology
Dear friends,
It is with great joy and honour to meet you at the first edition of the conference Comprehensive Advancements in Research and Exchanges for Neuro-oncology CARE4NEURO-ONCOLOGY, organized by Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, the Faculty of Medicine, with the support of the Romanian College of Physicians – Sibiu and MedLife, during April 27- 28, 2023, in Sibiu, Romania.
In the medical field, there is no place for “one man show”, all specialists having the same continuous concern: to rebuild the health status of the patients. In this direction, when cancer diagnosis and therapy are considered, we are talking about a MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND MULTIMODAL approach.
The therapeutic decision is made within a multidisciplinary team called the TUMOR BOARD or the Oncological Commission. It is made up by doctors from multiple disciplines: neurosurgery, radiotherapy, medical oncology, neurology, psychiatry, pathological anatomy, and radiology.
Moreover, within each of these specialities there are doctors dedicated to the field of neuro-oncology. Due to the large volume of medical information and the innovation speed , this area requires special attention. For this reason, brain tumours are related to a subfield within each of the specialities.
Nowadays, the treatment of tumours is customised for each case individually, making us consider that we are living in the era of a personalized medicine.
We are looking forward to meeting you at this scientific event, to debate with responsibility, confidence and realism about our shared experience and vision regarding disease management in neuro-oncology.
The symposium will be held at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, the Faculty of Medicine, Aula Magna, a spacious location with exceptional acoustics and the best conditions for such an outstanding event.
For newcomers, Sibiu is a multicultural centre and tourist location, former European cultural capital, where tradition harmoniously combines with modernism, awaits you to explore it during the days of CARE4NEURO-ONCOLOGY.
Warmly,
Dr. Claudiu Matei, MD, PhD
